Rabbi Elizabeth Bahar

Rabbi Elizabeth Bahar graduated from the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati to join the family of Temple B’nai Sholom in July 2009. As a student, Rabbi Bahar served congregations in Dubuque, Iowa; Winnipeg Canada and Pine Bluff Arkansas. She also served as rabbinic intern at Adath Israel Congregation in Cincinnati.

Rabbi Bahar received her Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Women’s Studies and Jewish Studies from Brandeis University and a Masters of Arts in Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College. She grew up in Pittsburgh where her family were long time members of the historic Rodef Shalom congregation. She lived for two years in Israel on a Kibbutz volunteering with seniors and then living and studying in Jerusalem. She has spent many summers traveling throughout the Land of Israel, studying Hebrew at University of Tel Aviv and time learning archeology at Tel Dan. Elizabeth is married to Uzi Bahar and they have a daughter, Aiden.

She loves walking, swimming and reading
